BACKGROUND:

My Name is Frank Capezzuto III - I am a concept artist at Bungie Studios LLC, working on the game Destiny, published by Activision.  I grew up in the industrial town of Pittsburgh PA, inspired by the local industrial structures, watching movies in the 1980's, Blade Runner and Aliens, that helped forge my interest in what I do today.  I attended Art Institute of Pittsburgh studying industrial design.

HOW DID I GET INTO THE INDUSTRY?

It was really the love of the movies growing up as a kid - reading a lot of comic books, I love military tech and history, drawing and playing video games.  I initially wanted to get into doing movies and movie miniature effects, since that's how they did it back then.  After going into college, computer graphics were really catching up for movies, and then for real-time video games.  My love of games plus crafting art collided - and I have been in the video games industry since.

HOW DO YOU GET INTO THE INDUSTRY?
The video game industry is awesome, in the sense that it supports pretty much every job type you can think of in any other industry.  Costume design, vehicle design, programming, animation, filmaking and audio design/composing are all great fields to explore.  Getting into the video game industry is not that complicated.  You have to have a passion for what you want to do, follow up with a good school like Art Institutes International, Digipen or Full Sail - after you graduate, most schools have employment placement programs that can help you get into the industry.
